Sit Down Dinner vs Casual Canapés

I am sure we have all been to weddings where the bride and groom have spent a fortune on a formal sit down dinner for the guests. They have agonised over seating arrangements for hours and nevertheless, you have found yourself a table with deaf Aunty Bessie and a bunch of strangers you think you may be related to.

I recently attended a beautiful wedding where the reception was a casual drinks affair. Held in the afternoon, waiters topped up our glasses as we were served  beautiful finger food. It was a beautiful and relaxed way to spend time, with guests being able to mingle and chat without having to be eat our way through 3 courses of tough, dried out old meat.

This of course got me thinking about our own reception. I would like to think that we are a more of a casual sort of couple and I would love for my friends and family to be able to walk around and chat to each other and most importantly, dance.

So, I think I am going to break with tradition and spend my money on canapés and more champagne!!!
